This Friday night marks the 14th Death Before Dishonor and it looks like an amazing card to see headlined by Jay Lethal vs Adam Cole. The match card looks like this:

  • Jay Lethal (C) vs Adam Cole – ROH World Championship
  • Bobby Fish (C) vs Mark Briscoe – ROH TV Championship
  • The Addiction (C) vs Tetsuya Naito & Evil vs Michael Elgin & Hiroshi Tanahashi -ROH Tag Team Championship
  • Kazuchika Okada vs Dalton Castle
  • Katsuyori Shibata vs Silas Young
  • Donovan Dijak vs Lio Rush vs Jay White vs Kamaitachi – #1 Contender for ROH TV Championship
  • CHAOS (Roppongi Vice & Yano) vs Bullet Club (Guerrillas of Destiny & Takahashi)
  • Hangman Adam Page vs Jay Briscoe

Hangman Adam Page vs Jay Briscoe:

This match will a violent one both men can be viscous and the way this has developed especially the hanging attempts, both men will be in an all out attempt to destroy each other. The outcome is tough to predict because Page is a member of the Bullet Club so will it really be Page vs Briscoe? or will it be Briscoe vs Bullet Club? I predict a good solid match but as along as it truly is the one on one match I predict Jay Briscoe. Prediction: Jay Briscoe

CHAOS (Roppongi Vice & Yano) vs Bullet Club (Guerrillas of Destiny & Takahashi):

This match is interesting as two of the six competitors never comes over with NJPW in Yano and Takahashi. For those who are unaware CHAOS was a group in NJPW since 2009 as a heel group but have since turned to face Suzuki-Gun and most notably Bullet Club. Both teams have former former tag team champions on their team Roppongi Vice were former IWGP Junior Tag Team Champions and the Guerrillas are former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, which makes the match a little better as strong performance could keep them in a tag team champion opportunity. This is a good move by ROH to have these two groups feud in North America expanding both groups. I see Bullet Club going over as they have the popularity for this match to go over especially with the Guerrillas of Destiny  being frequent. Prediction: Bullet Club

Donovan Dijak vs Lio Rush vs Jay White vs Kamaitachi – Four Corner Survival Match for #1 Contender for ROH TV Championship:

I see this match as being a good one to watch as Dijak and Rush are on the rise, while White and Kamaitachi have recent history with each other in The Addiction- Motor City Machine Gun feud. This match will provide all men a solid opportunity to show their strengths, and this is a match that could go anyway in the result department, but I see White and Kamaitachi feuding for a bit longer and I think after strong showings by both Rush and Dijak over the last while I do see one of these men winning a shot at the the winner of Bobby Fish and Mark Briscoe. Ultimately I think it seems to be Dijak’s time to shine and he will be the victor of the Four Corner Survival Match and go on to become the #1 Contender for the ROH TV Title. Prediction: Donovan Dijak

Katsuyori Shibata vs Silas Young:

This match is a treat for those in attendance, and I am jealous of them because they get to see Shibata, who is the NEVER Openweight Champion, one of the best in the world and he very rarely travels with NJPW to North America to wrestle. Silas Young in my opinion is underrated on the mic and in the ring, and this match should be a great one to see as this should bring Young’s abilities forefront with a guy like Shibata as an opponent. As for the victor of this match I think it it pretty obvious that Shibata will the victor of this match. Prediction: Katsuyori Shibata

Kazuchika Okada vs Dalton Castle:

The IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Okada vs one of the most upcoming stars in the wrestling industry the “Peacock” Dalton Castle, will be likely one of if not the best match of the night. This match can elevate Castle to the a main event star in ROH as well as put him in title contention as well as make a name for himself should he travel to Japan with ROH in the future. This match will be one of showmanship and well executed moves which I believe will finished with by a Rain Maker from Okada to pick up the victory, as NJPW talent seldom loose when over in ROH especially when it is a star and their current champ Okada, though stranger things have happened but for now I am predicting Okada to emerge victorious. Prediction: Kazuchika Okada

The Addiction (C) vs Tetsuya Naito & Evil vs Michael Elgin & Hiroshi Tanahashi -ROH Tag Team Championship:

This match will be an interesting on to watch as it features three strong tag teams highlighted by the IWGP IC Champion Michael Elgin and rock star Hiroshi Tanahashi who are an amazing tag team together. The Addiction will certainly have their hands full Friday night in Las Vegas as they face there toughest test yet as the ROH Tag Team Champions as former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Naito and his partner Evil are no slouches. Personally I would love to see Elgin and Tanahashi leave Vegas as the tag team champions but I feel somehow someway The Addiction will find a way to retain the gold, even if it is just a steal of a pinfall after a Elgin Bomb or a High Fly Flow but I feel Daniels and Kazarian will find a way to win whether I or fans around the world like it or not. Prediction: The Addiction

Bobby Fish (C) vs Mark Briscoe – ROH TV Championship:

This match features to mainstays of the ROH roster and both men are better known for their tag team matches than singles but both are great singles wrestlers. I think this match will fall short compared to the others on the card as I just do not think their styles mesh well together to have that wow factor, but hopefully the men prove me wrong. I think especially with the way ROH doesn’t believe in quick title changes I feel like Fish will retain the gold in Vegas, as many fans would enjoy Mark Briscoe as champion Fish poses better skill and needs the belt to keep him ranked as a singles competitor as opposed to him just being  one half of ReDragon. Prediction: Bobby Fish

Jay Lethal (C) vs Adam Cole – ROH World Championship:

The match fans have been waiting for since Cole debuted in the main event under the Bullet Club banner and ended a good title match between Lethal and Cabana. This match had all the build up it could have, the best build up I have seen since Briscoe vs Lethal back in 2015 at Best in the World, especially since the haircut Cole and the Young Bucks gave Lethal a few weeks ago. This match has the potential to be the match of the night and match of the year for ROH, as it has two of its very best in the ring, but ROH has to keep Bullet Club out of the match, easier since the Young Bucks are not signed to appear due to Super J Cup, but also keep people like Cabana and O’Reilly away from seeking revenge on Cole as well as limiting any interactions from Taeler Hendrix and just let the match fight its way out. Ultimately I feel that as much respect I have for both men I feel its best for Jay Lethal’s ROH World Championship Reign end at 427 days which would leave him the 4th longest reign in ROH history behind only Samoa Joe (645 days), Nigel McGuinness (545 days), and Bryan Danielson  aka Daniel Bryan (462 days). Adam Cole as champion especially with Bullet Club gives ROH something they could only dream of since Bullet Club’s been making ROH appearances, and would be a boost as Lethal has nobody left to defend against at this point. Prediction: Adam Cole
